PAULA HESCH

Paula, a Washington, D.C. native, moved to Miami in 1982, and worked for four major Miami interior design and architectural firms before starting her own company in 1994. Her firm has been the winner of numerous awards for interior design, including the 20th Anniversary Designer of the Year “Guilda” Award for work on the Port of Miami’s cruise terminals.

A graduate of the University of Maryland, Paula also studied under Hans Krieks, a renowned interior architect and furniture designer in New York City. Paula has taught as an adjunct professor at Florida International University School of Architecture and Miami Dade College. She has been part of FIU’s I.D. Advisory Board and MDC’s Architecture Advisory Board. Paula is a Registered Interior Designer in the state of Florida, a member of the United States Green Building Council and LEED Accredited Professional, GREEN AP for the Sustainable Furnishing Council and Certified Aging in Place Specialist for the National Home Builders Assoc.

Paula Hesch Designs focuses on practicing green interior design and providing environmentally friendly products to a client base that includes Marriott hotels and restaurants; Black and Decker’s corporate headquarters; Sabal Chase Community Clubhouse; a variety of corporate and medical offices; and residential projects.
